Billing Model
Runta usage is metered by runtime resources. A running runtime is billed for vCPU, memory, and disk storage. After a runtime is shut down, vCPU and memory billing stop; only disk storage is billed until the runtime is deleted.
Usage Meters
Section titled “Usage Meters”| Meter | Unit |
|---|---|
| vCPU | vCPU-hour |
| Memory | GiB-hour |
| Disk storage | GiB-hour |
The billing portal displays current rates, usage as vCPU hours, memory GiB hours, and disk GiB hours, and any account-specific credits or limits.
Runtime States
Section titled “Runtime States”| Runtime State | What Is Billed |
|---|---|
| Running | vCPU, memory, and disk storage |
| Paused, stopped, suspended, or shut down | Disk storage only |
| Deleted | Nothing |
Shutdown is the boundary for compute billing. Once the runtime is no longer running, Runta stops charging for vCPU and memory. Storage continues because the runtime disk still exists and can be resumed or inspected later.
